Saudi Journal of Anaesthesia is a peer-reviewed publication. Published two times per year (just as a start at present time). Authors are invited to submit for publication articles reporting original work in anaesthesia and related subjects. Review articles are to be considered by invitation only. There are also sections for Case Reports, Letters to the Editor and Medical News items including an Academic Calendar of symposia, conferences and workshops concentrating on Saudi Arabia, Middle East and North African countries.

Saudi Journal of Anaesthesia publishes peer reviewed original articles and highlights the current advances in anaesthesia and related sciences. It is also to encourage and stimulate associated scientific research and communication between hospitals and universities in Saudi Arabia, the Arab countries and the rest of the World.
It is also to consider Original manuscripts from all over the world for publication, as well as any relevant report regarding the specialty.
It also publishes the Academic Calendar of activities to co-ordinate symposia throughout the region and informs readers of dates of international meetings.

The journal complies with the Uniform Requirements for manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals, also known as the “Vancouver style”, “Uniform Requirements”.
Manuscripts to be written in English and with double-spaced typing on pages of uniform style (A4). Papers should be divided into sections, headed by a caption (e.g. Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, References). Manuscripts and figures for review will not be returned to authors whether the editorial decision is to accept, revise or reject.

Saudi Journal of Anaesthesia welcomes manuscripts submitted only through a specialized format on the website (http://www.journalonweb.com/sja) aiming prompt peer reviewing.
The corresponding author will be provided by a number code of his submitted manuscript for any enquiries about the process of reviewing through the e-mail address (info @ saudija . org).

Covering letter:
addressed to the Editor in chief of the journal and including a statement of approval by the authors on the manuscript, information of prior submission to any other medical journal, as well as full information of the corresponding author who will communicate with the Editorial office.
Title Page:
The title page should conform to the following guidelines:

The title should be as meaningful and as brief as possible.

Provide the preferred given name, initials, last name, highest degrees and professional certification of each author, in Arabic and English languages

In a separate paragraph, identify the current departmental and institutional affiliation of each author.

The full mailing address of the corresponding author. If the corresponding author wishes, his or her telephone and/or fax number(s) may also be published; these should also be provided on the title page.
There should be clear indication to the name and address of author to whom correspondence should be sent, if it differs from the first author.
Disclaimers and conflict of interest also should be included.
It is recommended that the number of authors be limited to ten (10).
Acknowledgement of support should be included in an Acknowledgement section at the end of the article.
Structured Abstract:
Original articles must contain a structured summary of not more than 250 words and an Arabic summary should also be provided.
The following are typical headings: Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
Abstract for Case Reports:
Case Reports are to be preceded by a brief unstructured abstract of 100 words or less.
Keywords: Keywords should be provided on the same sheet of paper as the Abstract according to the rules given in “Uniform Requirements”.
References:
References in the text must be numbered alphabetically. At the end of the article, the references must be given according to the rules given in “Uniform Requirements”.
Units of Measurement: Le Systeme international de’Units (SI) are preferred. Equivalent values in traditional units should be given, if thought to be necessary.

Footnotes:
Footnotes to material in the text should not be used, but their use is encouraged in tables.
Tables: Tables must be prepared as advised by “Uniform Requirements”.
Ethical Consent:
When experiments on humans are being reported, a declaration as indicated in “Uniform Requirements” must be incorporated.
Permission to Reprint: Whenever a manuscript contains material (text, tables, figures, charts, etc.) which is protected by copyright, it is the obligation of the author to secure written permission from the holder of the copyright.
Unique Status of Manuscripts and Assignment of Copyright: A paper submitted for publication must be the work of the author or authors submitting it, and neither it, nor any similar work, should be under consideration for publication or have been published elsewhere by any other Journal, prior to publication in the Saudi Journal of Anaesthesia. All authors must sign a declaration to this effect, together with written consent to publish after amendment if necessary by the Editors.
Papers accepted for publication become the exclusive property of Saudi Journal of Anaesthesia and may not be reproduced elsewhere, wholly or in part without the consent of the Editors.
Publication of a paper does not imply the Journal’s or the Editors agreement with the statements or opinions expressed therein; authors take responsibility for these and also for the accuracy of references.
Papers are only accepted for publication on the understanding that the authors will permit editorial amendments, though proofs will always be submitted to authors before being sent to press.
